Hello!
Welcome back to The Ledger. What a week!
Trump brought tanks and multiple military flyovers to the Lincoln Memorial for Independence Day. His ego-boosting, dictator-lite parade cost millions of dollars (and a good amount of the US’s dignity) at a time when the Trump administration is literally arguing that it can’t afford to give indefinitely-detained migrants toothpaste and soap.
I joined Code Pink at the National Mall where I got to see the infamous Trump Baby blimp that Medea Benjamin had shipped over from London. Trump’s supporters gave me the joy of witnessing them argue with a statue of their great leader taking a dump and spurting out some of his most brain-damaged catchphrases.
All in all, it was an interesting day.
Anyway, enjoy the Ledger!
