Hello!
Students in Europe went on strike this week to demand action on climate change and it’s a glimmer of hope worth grabbing onto as the bad news continues to roll in. The President declared a national emergency to address his made-up border crisis since he failed to intimidate $5.7 billion out of Congress.
One side-effect of his wall, if he manages to get it, will be the destruction of a butterfly reserve on the border and as we’ve covered on the show - the monarch butterfly population has already plummeted.
But keep laughing, keep tuning in and tuning out corporate media’s propaganda, and get ready for the next steps. Let’s make revolution fun again!

“The most visionary resolution to emerge from Congress in recent years, encompassing both the climate crisis and economic inequality, has captured the imagination of many Americans. In less than a year we went from having never heard the name Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to watching the impressive, young rookie congresswoman achieve more in a month than most of our representatives do in a year…”
Republicans shot themselves in the foot with their deceptive tax cut — and it ‘will only go downhill from here’
AlterNet | Cody Fenwick
More than a year ago, then-House Speaker Paul Ryan was already cheering the supposed success of the GOP’s 2017 tax cut bill, and he tried to argue that it was proving to be a boon for typical Americans.
“A secretary at a public high school in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, said she was pleasantly surprised her pay went up $1.50 a week,” he tweeted, “she said [that] will more than cover her Costco membership for the year.”

A select group of national news “stakeholders” gathered at an undisclosed location for what was described as a “semi-secret” workshop somewhere in Canada on January 26. The meeting had been convened to determine how and to whom a “news industry bailout” of $645 million in Canadian government subsidies to private and supposedly independent media outlets would be disbursed.
Reader-Submitted
This week from Reader-Submitted we are highlighting the submission of M. Fantauzzo.
In “Why Many Bigots and Antisemites Support Israeli Apartheid” he proves and ruminates on this important question. Why are so many fundamental Christians and antisemites staunch supporters of a Israel.

Redacted Tonight’s Lee Camp has released a new stand-up special, his first in over four years. You won’t see it in the new releases column on Netflix, and you won’t see him plugging it on Fallon or Colbert. And if you shell out a few bucks to watch it, you’ll understand very quickly why that is.
